Objectives
The students should be familiar with the main approaches to the study of animal remains recovered from archaeological sites and be able to identify them through a reference collection.

Program
Theoretical component: Archaeozoology - definition. Methods for collecting and sampling zooarchaeological remains. Development and structure of bones and teeth. Skeleton identification. Osteometric data. Methods of quantification and recording of data. Taphonomic issues related with the collection and conservation of samples.
Practical component: using the vertebrate reference collection

Evaluation Methodology
Resolution of a practical case in the last lesson.

Answer one of the questions posed in the final examination.
