The Centre for Technology, Restoration and Art Enhancement (TECHN&ART) was established within the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) in January 30, 2018.  It is registered under the number 5488 in the National Scientific and Technological System (SCTN) of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

Techn&Art aims at developing research strategies and methods in two key thematic areas: a) safeguard and b) promotion and enhancement of artistic and cultural heritage in its various forms of expression using a sustainable, holistic and multidisciplinary approach which connects the past with the present.

It comprises a multidisciplinary team of 94 members including full researchers and collaborators.
