Objectives
1. Use productivity and artificial intelligence tools to create and edit professional documents, reports, communications, and presentations.
2. Use Microsoft Excel and artificial intelligence tools to organize, process, analyze, and graphically represent data.
3. Plan and promote a personal or organizational presence on the Internet, search engines, and social media.
4. Understand digital transformation and apply artificial intelligence and digital business tools, considering their potential, limitations, ethical implications, and regulatory framework.
5. Adopt best practices for cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection in personal and organizational contexts.

Program
1. Productivity, documents, and presentations
Microsoft Word: document setup, editing, formatting, and viewing. Document structuring and use of styles. Bibliographic references, captions, notes, and indexes. Reviewing, collaborative editing, and mail merge.
Microsoft PowerPoint: creating and structuring presentations; templates, slides, notes, and handouts; inserting objects; animations and transitions; presenting and collaborative editing.
Use of artificial intelligence tools for producing, reviewing, and refining reports, emails, and presentations.
2. Data processing and analysis
Microsoft Excel: spreadsheet setup, editing, formatting, and viewing. Relative and absolute references, formulas, and functions. Data organization and validation. Creating and interpreting charts. Data analysis and collaborative editing. Use of artificial intelligence tools to support calculation, analysis, and data interpretation.
3. Digital presence and social media
Personal and organizational online presence. Search engines and principles of digital presence optimization. Social media and digital communication. Content planning, creation, and publishing. Digital reputation and identity. The Information Society in Portugal and the European Union.
4. Digital transformation, digital business, and artificial intelligence
Digital transformation of organizations. New business models and forms supported by the Internet, social media, and artificial intelligence. Fundamentals, applications, potential, and limitations of artificial intelligence. Critical use of generative AI tools. Ethics, responsibility, intellectual property, current developments, future trends, and regulatory frameworks.
5. Cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection
Key digital risks and threats. Security of data, devices, applications, and user accounts. Authentication, passwords, backups, fraud, and social engineering. Privacy and digital identity. Fundamental principles of the General Data Protection Regulation and their application within organizations.

Evaluation Methodology
• 30% — Individual practical test or continuous assessment exercises on word processing and productivity;
• 30% — Individual practical test or continuous assessment exercises on spreadsheets and data analysis;
• 40% — Individual or group project, including a presentation, on the digital presence of an individual or organization, integrating digital transformation, digital business, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection.
To qualify for an exam waiver, the student must achieve a minimum score of 7 points in each assessment component and a final grade of 9.5 points or higher.
The practical tests and the project may be replaced, in whole or in part, by continuous assessment exercises performed during class, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Professor.
