On February 19 and 20, the Polytechnic of Tomar and the Human Rights Academy will host the 10th Luso-Brazilian Congress on Human Rights in the Information Society. Information Society and Censorship: the legal protection of freedom of expression in the digital environment will be the theme of the online event.

In this tenth edition, the congress proposes the analysis of what is one of the dilemmas of contemporary society: the preservation of freedom of expression in a society marked by the growth of radicalization and authoritarian regimes worldwide.

The initiative is in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair in Humanities and Integrated Cultural Management of the Territory and the Network for Environmental Studies in Portuguese-speaking Countries and aims to bring together legal experts and specialists for a debate that will help clarify concepts and outline appropriate solutions in Portugal and Brazil.

The sessions will be broadcast on Youtube via the links associated with each lecture. The programme includes more than a dozen presentations by IPT lecturers.
