Native Forest Day
On 23 November, the Polytechnic of Tomar (IPT) will mark Native Forest Day by planting three trees on the Tomar and Abrantes campuses.
The activity kicks off at the Tomar campus at 10.30 a.m. with the planting of chestnut and laurel trees. This is followed by the symbolic moment at the Abrantes campus at 12 noon, with the planting of holly trees.
The day was also marked by the hoisting of the Eco-Schools Green Flag 2022-23, awarded by ABAAE - Associação Bandeira Azul do Ambiente e Educação (Blue Flag Association for the Environment and Education) in recognition of the work carried out in the field of Environmental Education for Sustainability at IPT.
The ESTA Eco-Schools flag will be raised at 11.30 a.m. on the Abrantes campus and the ESTT and ESGT Eco-Schools flags will be raised at 12 noon on the Tomar campus.
