Civil Protection implies understanding the importance of adopting and promoting a culture of security and knowing the concept of risk, as these are priorities for all citizens of the 21st century.
Becoming aware of appropriate behavior and attitudes in situations of collective risks, serious accidents, and disasters, as well as knowing how to cooperate with the different civil protection actors is the first step towards implementing a culture of safety and prevention.

The professional profile is anchored by a set of technical and operational skills aiming the support leadership in emergency situations, prevention (elaboration of environmental impact studies as well as, forestry, environmental, and territorial management projects), and risk assessment that enables the development of security activities, protection, and rescue, in order to articulate and implement strategic plans of action under the integrated system of protection and rescue operations (SIOPS).
Objectives
Main activities:
- draw up security plans
- develop emergency response action plans
articulate Civil Protection activities within the scope of SIOPS
- participate in operational activities of safety, protection prevention, and relief
- manage the mobilization of human, material, and technical resources, for different intervention scenarios
- identify and characterize natural, technological, and mixed risks
- advise the development of forest, environmental, territory and fire safety management projects
- plan and develop environmental impact studies
