Prerequisites
Not applicable.

Objectives
a)Students should be provided with basic and more advanced knowledge of mathematical methods used in different chemistry engineering problems.
b)They should be able to apply appropriate numerical methods to solve differential and integral equations.

Program
1. Iterative Methods for Linear Systems of Equations;
2. Numerical Methods for Systems of Nonlinear Equations and Nonlinear Equations;
3. Polynomial Interpolation;
4. Numerical Defferentiation and Integration;
5. Numerical methods for ordinary differential equations.

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment:
Written test worth 0-20 marks. A minimum mark of 10 exempts students from sitting the exam.
Exam-based assessment:
Exam is for students who failed continuous assessment or wish to improve their marks. Exam covers all the material taught and requires a minimum mark of 10 to pass the module.
