Objectives
- Identify HRM trends and challenges;
- Describe HRM in an integrated way;
- Differentiate the administrative vision from the strategic vision of HRM;
- Identify and apply strategies to measure the return on investment in HR;
- Describe the implications of new forms of digital work.

Program
Thematic seminars with invited professionals, in view of the pertinence of the themes to be addressed, that best complement the training of students.
It is intended that the contemporaneousness of the HRM be understood in its expression, at the level of policies and practices, through the holding of seminars with invited professionals, that approach themes such as:
1) Trends in HRM;
2) An integrated HR vision;
3) From administrative to strategic vision;
4) Measure the return on investment in HR;
5) Challenges of modernity;
6) HRM and the new organizational forms;
7) The digitization of the world of work;
8) HRM and organizational flexibility.

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous Assessment

Seminar participation – 10%

Assessment of seminar participation will take into account:

attendance records;
the quality and relevance of contributions;
the pertinence of questions raised and contributions to the discussion.

Individual report – 90%

Each student must select one of the topics addressed in the seminars and prepare an individual report, which should include:

Introduction: justification for selecting the topic and its contextualisation;
Critical review of the seminar: analysis and discussion of the main ideas presented, going beyond mere description;
Literature review: use and integration of relevant scientific literature with the ideas and content addressed in the seminar;
Examples and practical cases: presentation and analysis of examples or practical cases, where applicable;
Conclusion/final reflection: synthesis of the main contributions and critical reflection on the topic.

Examination

Individual report – 100%

The student must select one of the topics addressed in the seminars and prepare an individual report, following the same assessment criteria and structure defined for continuous assessment. The report will account for 100% of the final grade.

Teaching Method
This course allows a diversity of approaches and debates of the presented contents that stimulates the development of new competences for HR managers both in practice and research through more participative classes.
