Objectives
Providing students with the theoretical?practical foundations of Psychology, as well as the corresponding psychological intervention tools required in Human Resource Management.
Enabling the acquisition of competencies and capabilities for implementing Human Resource Management policies aligned with the projects and needs of individuals and organisations.

I – Psychology: conditions for the emergence of the paradigm
Object and objective of Psychology.

Specialised areas of research in Psychology.

Psychological currents or Schools of Psychology.

Current perspectives.

II – Behaviour
The behavioural sciences.

Applications of the behavioural sciences in Human Resource Management.

Human behaviour in organisations:
• The behavioural school.
• Antecedents of the behavioural school.
• The individual and the organisation.
• The individual/organisation conflict.

III – Personality
Personality and the individual.

Theories of personality.

Frustration and conflict.

Adjustments across life cycles.

The study of character.

IV – Motivation
Theories of motivation.

Motivation and the satisfaction of needs.

Environmental factors and motivation.

McClelland’s motivational factors and economic psychology.

V – The Psychology of Human Communication
Communication and behaviour.

The intersubjective relationship.

Perception of the world and the construction of self?concept and self?esteem.

Group behaviour.

Attitudes and communication styles.

Transactional analysis.

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment: case analysis (60%) and written test (40%).
Students who obtain an average equal to or above 10 points will not be admitted to the final assessment.
Final assessment by written examination.

Teaching Method
The theoretical content will be addressed using expository methods. The practical component will involve the analysis of case studies and exercises carried out in the classroom.
