Objectives
Analyse in the frequency domain continuous signals and systems using the Fourier Transform. Understand transmission systems, modulation techniques with continuous carrier applied to analogue and digital transmission systems.

Program
1 - Introduction to telecommunications;
2 - Signals and systems;
3 - Signal Theory: principles of frequency analysis based on Fourier Series and transforms;
4 - Modulation techniques with continuous carrier;
5 - Sampling and analog-to-digital conversion. PCM and Delta modulation;;
6 - Noise in Telecommunication systems
7 - Power budgets in telecommunication system

Evaluation Methodology
Written exam (14 over 20) (a minimum of 40% is mandatory) and Lab (6 over 20) (a minimum of 50% is mandatory). The laboratory component must be carried out until the date(s) indicated by the responsible teacher, mandatorily until the end of the exam evaluation period.
