Objectives
The students should view communication and the mass media under a sociological perspective;acquire theoretical skills that will enable them to expand their knowledge about communication in specific matters and be able to build their own approach to the media and their society.

Program
Sociology as a form of consciousness;
The great sociological narratives of our days; The Parsonian synthesis; Three approaches to post-modernity; The emergence of the communication paradigm; The main theoretical conventions on communication; The power of the media and three recurrent issues.

Evaluation Methodology
First Test (50%) + Second test (50%)
