Objectives
The students should understand the relations between the history of cinema and the history of cinema ideas;develop a critical mindset that enables them to relate individual works with the main theories discussed in class.
Program
History of a narrative form. The experience of war as a need for realism. New-Realism as a bound between classical and modern cinema. Deleuze and modern cinema. The new characters of the modern cinema. The modern cinema and its relation with the Nouvelle Vague. The Godard-Truffaut issue. Modernism and Vanguards, the Dziga Vertov group.

Assiduity and class performance (20%)
Final assignment and presentation (80%)
