Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of computer and digital imaging

Objectives
Become familiar with the basic tools and concepts in the area of electronic text processing and vector drawing.
Master the specific software used for text edition and vector drawing applied to graphic design and technology.

Program
- Introduction to Informatics.
- Concepts of hardware and software.
- Creation and edition of a text file using letterpress printing rules.
- Digital imaging; distinction between bitmap and vector images. -
- Edition and production of vector images (introduction to specific software).
- Colour modes, models and systems.
- File format.

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment requiring class attendance and resolution of the proposed exercises.
Practical coursework carried out with the help of relevant software.
