Prerequisites

Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the student will have the skills to critically understand the need for safety in tourist activities and how it is a key factor in differentiating current tourist destinations. Tourism security is a theme that at the end of teaching content will bring professional differentiation and criticism to students.

3.Safety in tourist equipment;
3.1 Crime and diversion practices

4.The tourist crisis: causes and consequences;
4.1 Crisis and economic insecurity
4.2 Health crises, SARS, COVID, EBOLA
5.Tourism and terrorism;
5.1. Changes after September 11
5.1 Airport security practice
6. Violence and criminality;
6.1. The use of violence as a tourist attraction
6.2 Tourism in violent communities
7. Risk and Fear
7.1 Travel insurance and the associated fear
7.2 Actual risk and potential risk

Evaluation Methodology
The continuous evaluation of the course unit will be calculated based on the weighted average of the grade obtained according to two mandatory elements of evaluation, being:

1) Written work (50%) and presentation and discussion (50%)
