Prerequisites
Not applicable.

Objectives
Provide knowledge about electronic components and their application circuits and dimensioning principles.
Provide skills for understanding, choosing and operating circuits with sensors, as well as for the correct use of test and measurement devices and awareness of the errors involved.

Program
Electronics: resistors, capacitors, inductors, operational amplifiers; transistors and diodes. Its operating principle, characteristics and application circuits.
Signal conditioning and interface: circuits with operational amplifiers, circuits in current, differential signals, filters, limiters, conversion and power supply.
Sensors: types and physical bases of operation of the materials used in sensors. Response time characteristics. Measurement range. Bridging and other connections.
Methods, errors and uncertainties in measurements. Sensitivity, repeatability of devices, etc.
Principles of operation and use of equipment: analogue and digital multimeters; oscilloscopes; function generators; wattmeters and electricity meters.

Evaluation Methodology
Written test: 50%; laboratory work: 50%.
