Prerequisites

Objectives
In this course the students should gain the hability to identify situations where the industrial automation can bring advantages. It is also intends mastering the equipment used in automation and its programming techniques.

Program
1. Introduction to automation
2. Sensors and actuators
3. Electric logic circuits
4. Programmable Logic Controlers (PLCs)
5. PLC programming
6. Automatic control

Evaluation Methodology
Students will be assessed through, frequency examination: theoretical-practical exam (weigth 50%) and pratical works performed during the semester (weight 50%);normal and recursive examination: theoretical-practical exam.
