Prerequisites
Basics of chemistry.

Objectives
a) To know the main coloring materials and the main organic materials with structural function
b) To know the history of their use
c) To know the main technological processes related to their manufacture and their use
d) To know their chemical (composition) and physical properties

1.2. Dyes and lakes
1.3. Writing and drawing inks
2. Organic materials with structural function
2.1. Wood
2.2. Paper
2.3. Vegetal fibres (cotton, flax and hemp)
2.4. Leather and parchment
2.5. Animal fibres (silk and wool)
2.6. Synthetic and semi-synthetic materials
2.7. Textiles and dyeing of textiles and other materials

Evaluation Methodology
Average of experimental reports (30 %) with tests during the semester or final exam(70 %). Each of the components must be rated at or above 10.
