Provide skills in the design and calculus of liquid-liquid and gas-liquid absorption equipments.

Liquid-Liquid Extraction. Fundamentals.
Equilibrium. Selection of solvents. Extraction equipment. Calculation methods.
Gas-Liquid Absorption. Objectives and examples of industrial application. Absorption and chemical reaction. Absorption and energy. Equilibrium. Kinetics of absorption.Operating flow rate calculation. Determination of diameter of the column. Determination of the height of the column.
Evaluation Methodology
Open-book written test and examinations.
