Objectives
Contact and understanding of the fundamental concepts and
essential knowledge on architectural conservation and their evolution over time. To become acquainted with methods of analysis and theorization in this new discipline; to have contact and to practice the application of methodologies.

Program
Fundaments of the preservation of architectural heritage in its multiple aspects.
Introduction to the bases of the architectural heritage preservation culture, which will allow a more informed
critical approach to the process of the planning and architectural projects. The trends brought about by the
ecological paradigm, the search for an environmental sustainability, the role that preservation.

Evaluation Methodology
The evaluation will be based in a continuous evaluation process (participation quality will account for 20% of the grade);production of an article with 6 to 10 pages respecting international approved standards of scientific
redaction(80% of the grade

Teaching Method
Theoretical lessons complemented by practical exercises. The essential theoretical information will be
supplemented by practical applications (learning by doing) in a simulation of the process that will allow the
construction of a critical synthesis.
