The Vocational Higher Education Course in (cTeSP) in Food Quality of the Polythecnic of Tomar was aproved by the Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior.

Professional Profile

Operate and supervise operations associated with the production and quality control of food as well as implement and maintain a quality management and food safety system.


Main Skills/Functions

  • Assist with the development and implementation of a quality system in accordance with NP EN ISO 9001, NP EN ISO 45001 and NP EN ISO 14001 standards;
  • Implement and apply the HACCP system;
  • Implement and enforce hygiene and safety requirements for food industry sectors;
  • Carry out sampling of raw materials and products;
  • Provide technical and analytical support measuring basic quality control parameters in food handling areas;
  • Operate industrial food manufacturing and processing systems;
  • Assist with the supervision and control of food production and processing lines;
  • Draw up, analyse and interpret operational technical reports and quality control reports.
