Techn&Art and IPT were represented in the XIII Congreso Internacional Historia del Papel en la Península Ibérica held on 12 to 14 June 2019 in Malaga.  Regina Delfina from  Techn&Art-IPT and Pedro Matos from the Instituto Politécnico de Portalegre contributed with the presentation “Book design, shape and technique in the Doutor Pacheco de Amorim collection”.

The event was very productive with a total of 45 presentations and the contribution of researchers from Portugal, Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala and the United States.

This Congress was organised by the Asociación Hispánica de Historiadores del Papel (AHHP), based in Madrid and with 24 years of existence, and it was extended to the entire Iberian Peninsula since its penultimate edition in Santa Maria da Feira in 2017.

Following the proposal of Leonor Loureiro, an IPT faculty member, it was agreed that the next edition of this event will take place in Tomar.  In this connection a presentation was held on Techn&Art, IPT and its facilities, and many attendees have appeared enthusiastic about coming to Tomar in 2021.  The topic of paper is transversal to a range of IPT areas such as design and graphic technology, conservation and restoration, chemistry and others; the congress being focused on graphic print heritage.
