Objectives
Students should:
a)Understand the importance of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the context of cultural tourism;
b)Identify and characterise Portuguese World Heritage properties;
c)Recognise cultural and social diversity in the context of tourist activity
Program
1. World Heritage. Survey, identification and characterisation.
2. Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage
3. World Heritage classification and its impact on the development of tourist destinations
4. Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development. Case studies.
5. Cultural diversity and the media in the European context
6. Case simulation
Evaluation Methodology
Assessment criteria:
Continuous assessment.
Practical Thematic Work (100%) = TPp1 (50%) + TPp2 (50%)
Students must:
1) obtain a mark of 8 or more in TPp1 and TPp2;
2) hand in the TPF=TPp1+TP2 on the date scheduled by the lecturer, and the TPF grade cannot be lower than 8.
3) present the TPF (TPp1+TPp2) orally. If not, TPF=90%.
Note: The student's final mark for the TPF (TPp1+TPp2) is calculated for all assessment periods.
