Objectives
1. Provide students with tools in the field of descriptive and inferential statistics.
2. Develop autonomy to solve and interpret problems falling within the topics covered.

Program
I - Descriptive Statistics; II - Introduction to Statistical Inference; III - Regression and Correlation; IV - Multiple Regression Models; V - Discriminant Analysis; VI - Factorial Analysis in Principal Component; VII - Cluster Analysis.

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment: practical work (30%); exercises handed in during the semester (20%) and a written test (50%). Students are exempt from exam if their final mark is equal to or higher than 10/20.
Final assessment: a closed book test on all the material taught. Students will pass the course if the mark for the exam, rounded up to the nearest integer, is equal to or greater than 10/20.

Teaching Method
Lectures with a strong interaction between theory and practice. Theoretical-practical classes focusing on the resolution of case studies using Google Docs, Geogebra and SPSS.
