The Polytechnic University of Tomar participated in the 2026 Templar Festival, which came to a close on 12 July, showcasing initiatives focused on scientific outreach, heritage promotion, and strengthening ties with the local community.
IPT’s participation began with the international seminar The Founding of the Castle, featuring opening remarks by João Freitas Coroado, president of the IPT; Henrique Pinho, director of the Tomar Business School (ESGT-IPT); and Hermínia Sol, director of Techn&Art-IPT.
The seminar further brought together faculty members from higher education institutions within the KreativEU alliance, fostering dialogue and knowledge sharing on topics related to history, heritage, and international academic collaboration.
During the Templar Festival, IPT was also represented at Tomar Urban Park with an institutional outreach space, showcasing its study programmes, current projects, and the opportunities arising from its participation in the European alliance KreativEU, thereby strengthening awareness of the institution’s international profile among residents and visitors alike.
