VITA.IPT is a R&D Lab of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) that develops research and education activities in the area of Ambient Assisted Living and Human Centered Devices. It aims to be an applied research Lab capable of transferring knowledge to companies.VITA.IPT lab hosts national research projects and benefits from the synergies and collaborations created with other research centers as well as with the academic staff from the Technology School of Tomar. VITA.IPT Lab hosts also the final projects of students from Bachelors programs (Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores, Engenharia Informática) and Master programs (Engenharia Electrotécnica Controlo e Electrónica Industrial e Engenharia Informática Internet das Coisas).

Objectives
VITA.IPT Lab seeks to promote applied research in four core areas:- Robotic and mobility systems to assist people with motor disabilities;
- Human-computer interfaces (HCI) and human-machine interfaces (HMI) to assist people with motor impairments (e.g., based on IMU, EMG, EEG);
- Telehealth: remote monitoring of health parameters, human activity, and environmental variables;
- Serious games based on new interaction inputs and immersive environments.
