The Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (IPT) was invited by Tomar City Council to participate in the "CAMIÃO DA ESPERANÇA" initiative to carry out screening tests on COVID-19 last December 1st in the Tomar municipal market area.

This initiative promoted within a partnership involving Tomar City Council, TVI, Unilabs and Globalsport brought together about 52 members of the IPT academic community, among students, faculty and staff, who voluntarily took these screening tests. So far, no positive cases have been reported.

The IPT Board thanks Tomar City Council, TVI, Unilabs and Globalsport the initiative carried out and the invitation made to IPT to participate in it and also thanks all students, faculty and staff who voluntarily offered to perform the COVID-19 tests and contributed to identify the positive trend within the IPT in combating COVID-19.
