During the month of July, the Fábrica de Startups will tour the country in a national roadshow to promote the third edition of Tourism Explorers which was launched this Tuesday. To participate go to www.tourismexplorers.pt.
After two editions, more than 1000 participants and over 200 start-ups, Tourism Explorers is back to 12 Portuguese cities to help develop innovative businesses in the tourism sector. Divided into Ideation and Acceleration, the program will run simultaneously in Abrantes, Angra do Heroísmo, Aveiro, Caldas da Rainha, Coimbra, Covilhã, Évora, Faro, Lisbon, Portalegre, Oporto and Setúbal.
At the ideation stage, the participants will have to find an innovative solution to the challenge put to them. At the Acceleration stage, the teams will have the opportunity to test and validate their business model. In either case, the participants will always be able to count on the support of a wide network of specialized trainers and mentors such as Antonio Lucena de Faria, Founder and CEO of Fábricas de Startups, Afonso Rebelo de Sousa, Corporate Venture Builder of Bundl, André Marquet, Founder and CEO of Productized and José Arthur Vasconcelos, Mentor and Board Member of Startup Discoveries.
Over two years, many startups have boosted their businesses in Tourism Explorers such as City Check, Immersive Pyx, Live Electric Tours or Sailside.
Tourism Explorers is a free program (subject to registration) organised by Fábricas de Startups in partnership with Turismo de Portugal which aims to promote entrepreneurship in Portugal, by creating and supporting the development of new startups within the tourism sector.
The National Roadshow will take place between June and July and the ideation and acceleration stages between September and October 2019:
