CEFT apresenta Semana da Fotografia
The Tomar Photography Week, promoted by Centro de Estudos em Fotografia de Tomar (CEFT/Casa dos Cubos), will take place From the 20th to the 27th of November.
This year's edition counts on an eclectic set of activities around the contemporary issues of Photography. From introductory themes to Analogue and Digital Photography, aimed at the general public, to activities in more specific fields of photography, such as the connection between History of Art and Photography, the Description of Camera Collections or the Organization and Communication of a Photographic Portfolio. The theoretical and practical training will be given by António Ventura, Élia Roldão, João Henriques, José Oliveira and Susana Paiva.
On November 20th, at 5 p.m., the exhibition "Genesis Revisited" will open at Casa dos Cubos, in Tomar, in collaboration with Encontros da Imagem Photography Festival, where the photographic works of 3 of the authors present in this year's edition will be presented: Alisa Martynova with Nowhere Near, about African migration to the European continent; Benjamin Rasmussen with The Land That Never Has Been, about the issues linked to American identity and white supremacy, and its impact on different communities, and finally, Vincen Beeckman, with a work of deep involvement with a fishing community in Espinho.
The CEFT - Centro de Estudos em Fotografia de Tomar is the result of a partnership between Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (IPT) and Tomar Municipality.
